We believe better design that has user-centered approach can do much bigger things than simply visually appealing design solutions. Along with that, understanding our client’s condition, what they can do and can not is the key.
INSIGHT
The client has one of the biggest digital archive of African American history. Most of the users of this website are coming here for academic purpose. Another insight about the user group is they have versatile age group users.

PROBLEM
Before, our client had too many saturated colors that distract visual hierarchy. Also, for branding persepctive, The History Makers only use orange and black across other platforms besides website.

VISUAL DIRECTION
We decided unify colors and typefaces between social and website. Based on logo, we highlighted orange, black and white as main color and add light gray and pale orange colors for secondary- third elements.
